Derbyshire Christmas Markets 2023

Our county may not put on a Christmas market with the glitz and glam of the biggest national Christmas markets (think Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland, York, Bath, Birmingham’s German market, to name a few…), but there’s no short supply of festive wonder around. And, of course, an excuse for some spending! Here’s our round-up of Derbyshire Christmas Markets 2023 – you’re sure to find a gem among them.

Chatsworth Christmas Market

Where: Chatsworth House, Bakewell, DE45 1PP

When: 4th – 26th  November

Cost: Free, parking charges apply. Additional cost for entrance to the house & grounds. Pre-booking is essential.

Ethical Christmas Market

Where: The Chocolate Factory, Derby, DE1 2QD

When: Saturday 4th November

Cost: £2 for adults, children free.

Mercatum Christmas Artisan Market

Where: Haddon Hall, Bakewell, DE45 1LA

When: Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th November, Thursday 23rd – Sunday 26th November, Thursday 30th November – Sunday 3rd December

Cost: £9.50 for adults, including parking. Children 5-15 £2.50, under 5s free.

Bakewell Christmas Market

Where: Bakewell town centre

When: Saturday 18th – Sunday 19th November

Cost: Free entry

Thornbridge Christmas Market & Gardens

Where: Thornbridge Hall, DE45 1NZ

When: Friday 17th – Sunday 19th November and Friday 24th – Sunday 26th November, 10am-4pm.

Cost: Garden entry tickets are required to access the markets, which can be pre-booked – £5.60 for adults and £2.40 for children 3-16.

Midlands Markets Christmas Market

Where: Haarlem Mill, Wirksworth, DE4 4BG

When: Sunday 27th November

Cost: £2 for adults in advance, £3 on the day. Children under 12 go free.

Denby Pottery Christmas Market

Where: Denby, DE5 8NX

When: Friday 1st – Monday 4th December and Friday 8th – Sunday 10th December.

Cost: Free entry

Fabulous Places Christmas Market

Where: Shottle Hall, DE56 2EB

When: Friday 24th November 4pm-8:30pm and Saturday 25th November 10am-4pm.

Cost: £6.50, tickets required.

Chesterfield Christmas Lights Switch On & Market

Where: Chesterfield Market Place

When: Sunday 19th November, 4:45pm lights switch on.

Sadler Gate Christmas Night Market

Where: Sadler Gate, Derby, DE1 3NQ

When: Thursday 30th November, 5pm-9:30pm.

Cost: Free entry

Calke Abbey Christmas Fairs

Where: Calke Abbey, DE73 7JF

When: Every weekend in December

Cost: Free entry

Matlock Victorian Christmas Market

Where: Matlock, DE4 3AP

When: Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd December.

Cromford Mills Christmas Markets
